PBL FALL KICK-OFF
We attended PBL Fall Kick-off at Fayetteville Tech. College. Active PBL members and a PBL advisor were present at this annual event.  Our own PBL members walked away with 5 out of the 6 door prizes that were awarded.

FALL FESTIVAL AT SCC
SCC hosted a Fall Festival September 26, 2006. On that day SCCPBL members sponsored a recruiting booth at SCC in the student activity center. Crystal Richmond was on hand off and on all day talking to students in an effort to bring in new members. As a result 6 new paid members signed up. Later on 7 more members followed up by paying their membership dues and became active.

SAFETY DAY AT ROYAL LANE PARK
October 7, 2006 the Missing You Foundation hosted an event at Royal Lane Park called Safety Day where they sought to enhance community awareness of  dangers to their children’s safety. Our own Sherry Hicks and James Holland and his wife Melody, were present volunteering their help to this organization.

There was plenty of good food, door prizes and lots of fun things for the kids to do at this event.

FOODLION SHOP AND SHARE
The FoodLion Shop and Share project was successful; we accumulated our minimum of 20 new participants to this program. Funds go to state PBL officers. Up to $350 per quarter is donated to state headquarters by our Clinton FoodLion as a result of this work.

NCPBL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
The NCPBL Leadership Conference was held at Statesville, NC on October 27
thru the 29th. Six of our members went to this conference. At the conference our members received 4 awards. One was the Gold Star Award. It is significant that we earned the Gold Star Award in that this means PBL had all requirements for our club submitted on time.

Others were participation awards for events like the quiz bowl. Crystal Richmond, Melissa Newell, Samantha Gryka, Ashley Peterson, Norman Long, Jean Clark and Gene Park were present at the conference. All our members that attended had a great time, join PBL and you can get in on this fun too.

50/50 DRAWING
PBL members actively sold tickets to a 50/50 drawing, which was held on October 31, 2006. 100 tickets were sold and a prize of $50 was given to the winner.

NACHOS DAY
You may have noticed our Nachos stand a few weeks ago in the cafeteria area. this went well and in the short period it was manned we sold 27 bowls of crisp
tortillas covered with hot melted nacho cheese.

We plan to repeat our success very soon. Be on the lookout for our stand, but loaded with even MORE condiments like hot peppers and salsa to really spice it up.
